Governor Cuomo’s new executive order requiring staff testing and reporting at nursing homes during this pandemic does nothing to keep elderly residents from risk, according to John Dalli, a partner in the law firm Dalli & Marino LLP, in the May 13 edition of the New York Post.

Dalli says these risks are compounded by the immunity these skilled nursing facilities now have in providing care.

“This makes Cuomo’s granting of immunity for negligent care a virtual death sentence for many residents. With family members unable to visit, there is no one to witness any wrongdoing,” he adds.
