David Freeman

Mr. Freeman has practiced law for over 30 years with an additional five years working as a litigation law clerk while attending law school at night.  He has specialized in litigating violations of the Public Health Law by Nursing Homes. This has required prosecuting these cases on behalf of the elderly or those in need of rehabilitation within nursing homes. It is these residents who were not able to protect themselves, who Mr. Freeman has defended. This has also involved litigating these cases on behalf of children of those residents who trusted the nursing home to care for their parents, the way that they care for their parents themselves.

He has litigated cases involving Nursing Home residents who developed pressure ulcers, sustained falls, suffered from dehydration and other incidents of neglect and abuse of the dependent elderly. Based upon his expertise in Nursing Home litigation, Mr. Freeman was selected to author the chapter, “Nursing Home Public Health Law Actions” in the authoritative New York State Bar Association publication, Medical Malpractice in New York.

He also earned a Master’s degree in psychology, prior to becoming an attorney.

He has obtained significant trial verdicts on difficult liability cases.

Mr. Freeman has volunteered his time to aiding the victims of hurricane Sandy and has lectured to high school students about the dangers of texting while driving.

He began his career working as a law clerk for a former New York State Supreme Court Justice and assisted him at trial.
