2.4 Million Dollar Settlement for Construction Worker

Juan Carlos Fajardo v. 100 Motor Parkway Associates:

Juan Carlos Fajardo, a thirty three year old construction worker, was injured while working on a six foot ladder at a construction site in Hauppauge, New York. Mr. Fajardo was cutting sheetrock on a ceiling at a height of approximately 8 feet when the ladder he was standing on shifted causing him to fall to the ground. As a result of the fall Mr. Fajardo sustained injuries including a left knee tibial plateau fracture requiring surgery, a tear of a tendon in the right hand and lacerations to the 2nd and 3rd fingers of the right hand. Construction accident attorney John Dalli filed suit against the owner of the property as well as the general contractor for violations of the New York State Labor Law. The ladder provided to Mr. Fajardo to perform his work was not properly braced or secured causing him to fall to the ground and sustain the aforementioned injuries. Prior to trial the case was settled for 2.4 Million Dollars.
