New York City Councilman Joseph Borelli told FOX News there are now bipartisan calls for an investigation of Governor Cuomo’s controversial order on March 25 that required nursing homes to accept or re-admit all COVID-19 positive patients.
Skilled nursing facilities in New York and other states are being granted immunity for care they provide during the COVID-19 crisis. Advocates fear that such blanket protection will make it easier for facilities to cover up negligence and the abuse of elderly patients in nursing homes.
Governor Cuomo’s new executive order requiring staff testing and reporting at nursing homes during this pandemic does nothing to keep elderly residents from risk, according to John Dalli, Esq., of nursing home abuse law firm, Dalli & Marino, LLP, in a May 13 feature in The New York Post.
Whether you’re struggling to get justice for your loved one’s injuries from nursing home abuse or you’re hurt after a negligent medical procedure, you need an attorney who understands your pain and will do everything in their power to help.
