New York City Councilman Joseph Borelli told FOX News there are now bipartisan calls for an investigation of Governor Cuomo’s controversial order on March 25 that required nursing homes to accept or re-admit all COVID-19 positive patients.
Skilled nursing facilities in New York and other states are being granted immunity for care they provide during the COVID-19 crisis. Advocates fear that such blanket protection will make it easier for facilities to cover up negligence and the abuse of elderly patients in nursing homes.
